Good quality photographs are very important! The more detail in your photographs, the more detail I can render in your portrait. Take time to select your photographs carefully.
Preferable are photos taken in soft, natural light. Bright, direct sunlight can create shadows that obscure details.
Avoid photographing your subject so closely that some features are distorted, nor so far away that he/she appears as a tiny dot in the backyard. A distance of 3’ to 5’ should work well.
When photographing a very young child or an active pet, get the help of a friend to hold up a toy for the child or hold the collar of your pet. I can always draw out a hand or an arm that is in the photo. Again, I will be working from a combination of photographs.
If in doubt about sending a particular photo, send it. It is always better to have too many photographs form which to work than too few!
All of your photographs will be returned to you safely with the shipment of your completed pet portrait.
